PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR BIO
Lorella Loftus is originally from Glasgow, Scotland and has been very
active in the Austin theatre and Celtic communities for the past six
years as an actress, director and dialect coach. She has worked with
several theatre organizations including VORTEX Repertory Company, Rude
Mechanicals, Austin Shakespeare Festival, Zachary Scott Theatre and the
State Theatre. She founded the Austin Renaissance Theatre Company in
2002 and has produced or co-produced and directed numerous productions
for Renaissance Austin Theatre Company, VORTEX Repertory Company,
Austin Celtic Festival and Celtic Cultural Center of Texas.
Lorella
serves as Literary Manager for VORTEX Repertory Company and served
on the Board of Directors for the Austin Celtic Association for several
years. In 2007 Lorella appeared as Gertrude In
VORTEX's
"Hamlet," in City Theatre's "Women of Lockerbie" and in Renaissance's
"Accidental Death of an Anarchist." She also directed Martin
McDonagh's "A Skull in Connemara" for Renaissance at the Dougherty Arts
Center, and Dario Fo's "Accidental Death of an Anarchist" for VORTEX
and Renaissance at the VORTEX.
